Change in your working life?

Looking to start a new career, or change job?  Are you returning to work after a break, or facing a restructure, or job loss?  Perhaps you are not happy in your work and are anxious about change, feeling safer staying in your comfort zone despite not getting job satisfaction.

Looking for a new job, career or promotion can come at any stage in your working life.  It is sometimes difficult to clarify what to do, where to look, and how to put yourself forward as a good candidate, particularly if confidence is low.

Retirement and redundancy often bringing feelings of loss, loneliness and even grief.  The loss of a job title and the structure of a work schedule, together with the loss of connection to other people, be they colleagues or customers, can leave one feeling stranded without purpose. Talking about feelings, and working on a plan to find opportunities for a worthwhile and productive life, will help massively to boost all-round wellbeing.

Retiring..?  Redundancy?

The transition from a working life is huge can can result in depression, lack of energy, a drop in self esteem and a loss of purpose and identity.
  • 'Who am I actually (...now that I no longer have a job title)?'
  • 'What is my purpose in life?   (How much time can I idle away doing puzzles?)'
  • I miss my colleagues,  (never thought I would say that!) and I miss the daily structure of working hours...(I wake up and have to think what day of the week it is... my brain is going mushy!'
